For this particular project, the client’s previous site was built using Adobe Muse. The system was old and rigid to comply with the trend at the time. The client’s website was redesigned with standard web technology such as HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript. The overall color scheme is dark gray allowing a dramatic contrast to the image in the foreground.
The site was originally designed to show only photo essay projects. A simple slideshow interface was built for the new presentation. Each of the photo essays would be presented on a different page. For the gallery, the menu became the navigation. The goal was to present the photos with clarity in order to engage the viewer.
The “Book” section was different from the photos which was presented in a slide show format. A custom flipbook user interface was built to house all of the book series. It was created with trending technology called React which simplified the development cycle and made the viewing experience much more interactive. All of the user interfaces were built with responsiveness to screen sizes: mobile, tablet, and desktop.
